Uploading Videos

1. My video is taking a really long time to upload. Is it working?

  • Depending on the file size and format, some videos take a long time to load. To help speed up the process, you can convert your videos to a .flv format. .wmv, .avi, .mov, and .mpg file formats are also accepted. If you video is taking longer than an hour to upload, your browser has probably stopped responding to our site. You should cancel your upload, check the file size, and try again.

2. If I upload a video, will it ever be erased?

  • A video will stay on Vlogcafe.com until the uploader has deleted it. Vlogcafe.com reserves the right to terminate a video if it violates our Terms of Use.

3. Can I upload a video without being a member?

  • No, you have to be a member of Vlogcafe.com to upload videos. But its free to be a member, so why not?

  • Log in to your acount, click on My Videos, click the button "Edit Video" next to video you wish to change.

6. What are tags?

  • Tags are keywords used to find the video in a search. A movie about digging may have the tags "digging, shovel, hole, etc. There is really only need to put a few main tags on your movie. For instance, if you film a racing movie, you don't need to tag every single driver in the race! Only certain words like the track or kinds of cars running.

7. Can I get my own video featured on the home page?

  • Every time someone watches your video and clicks the "Feature this!" link, it sends a message to us that you want this video featured. If you see enough of these requests, we'll feature your video! If you want to advertise a video, you can go to our advertising page and inquire about our rates.

8. Why can't I watch my video after I upload it?

  • After you upload a video, it takes a while for the website to create the link and make the video work. Wait a while after you upload a video, it and will play as long as it uploaded correctly.

9. After I uploaded my video and tried to update it, I received an "Invalid key" message. What does that mean?

  • An "Invalid key" can occur when an upload has not succeeded correctly, most often from a wi fi connection. The system will detect a file of the same name and not generate a unique ID. This is to avoid duplicate movies from same IP address. If this happens, try renaming the file and reuploading the video.
